Whoa... 5 days and counting
I have got SUCH a case of senioritis. I can't stand to sit down and do any more homework. I have one more coding project due on Friday and then I graduate on Saturday. Of course, I still have to take a final and turn in a paper the following week, but the actual graduation milestone will finally be reached. I'm sure I've been insufferable lately. :-)
Instead of doing my homework yesterday, I ran out and did a LOT of Christmas shopping. Nothing like crowding through 20 stores, 1 mall, 3 cities, in 5 hours to make you really start agreeing with the Grinch. Hard to love your fellow man as they cut in lines in front of you (and then listen to them bitch about how long *they* had to stand in line), employees who send you to a branch of their store 2 cities over for a product that it turns out that no store in their chain even carries except in 3 cities in Michigan (all a minimum of 1 hour away) but had been shown in their big Sunday ad, carrying a 40 pound box out of a store only to have the man in front of you take his bag out of his cart and leave his shopping cart half in and half out of the only exit door and walk away blocking you in. But I think I only have about 3 more presents to buy and then any additional things I have time to make will be extras to give away. I decided not to stress myself out about trying to get any sewing projects done in time for Christmas. I did buy some fabric and yarns to make some additional presents if I have time.
I'm STILL working on the pillows for Altu's restaurant and I never had a chance to start again on finishing the wedding quilt. But I have only 2 more inches on the last scarf that I was commissioned to do for my neighbor. So something will finally be done today. I have the cushions close to being finished so the end is finally in sight.
I need to start keeping a small sketchbook in my purse (as I used to have to do when I took my intro design classes). I went to a computer science lecture a couple weeks ago and the lecturer was wearing a fabulous outfit. It had so many unusual details that it really needed to be sketched. It's happened a couple of times in the last couple weeks that I've seen something that I desperately wanted to record and try to duplicate but can't remember the essential details when I get home. I am eagerly waiting for my textile class to start next semester and to get back into that program.
